The “Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre with Hakka Steamed Glutinous Rice Cake ” workshop organized by the PTA was successfully held on 16 March. The center showcased the unique cultural heritage of the Tai Hang area, the Fire Dragon Dance and introduced the revitalization process of the building.
Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance first performed on the day of Mid-Autumn Festival in 1880 and thus possessed a history of over 140 years. It is an important activity during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Students and parents can understand the historical and cultural significance behind it. In this workshop, they learnt to make Hakka steamed glutinous rice cakes and enjoyed the Hakka hill songs at the same time. The activity ended successfully with food and laughter.
