The annual “Passing the Torch” night has arrived once again. Familiar as the setting may be, it never fails to bring new touches of warmth.<\/p>\n
Teachers and parents from the secondary school section welcomed the primary school parents with warm smiles. Questions filled the air: How to adjust to the learning pace as children move into higher grades? How to listen to the unspoken thoughts of an adolescent? How to walk alongside them through subject choices and the pathways to higher education? All these concerns were addressed, one by one, in the evening’s conversations.<\/p>\n
One secondary school parent shared, “I used to be very anxious too, but I’ve since learned that rather than fixating on grades, it’s better to help my child find their own rhythm.” Another teacher added, “The balance between support and letting go is often the very key to a child’s growth.” The parents in the audience took notes carefully, nodding knowingly and sharing quiet smiles.<\/p>\n
In the same hall, bathed in the same gentle warmth of spring, different people arrived with different stories, yet left with the same sense of gain. That night, the torch was lit once more\u2014not only passing on experience, but also offering mutual support and understanding along the journey.
